The following images are from my working vacation to the Riviera, southern France, Andorra, and Catalunya with my daughter Susan as a college graduation present.

Having a car enabled us to wander around.  We hit the jackpot with this incredible site on a mountain top with many remains of huts, alters, and even tools.  It took us an hour to realize what all those rocks were- we knew it was important. The stuff was just lying on the ground in the middle of France.

Sue in remains of an ancient hut. Entry hole on right.

Sue with pestle in left hand.  We found many.

Gary with stone spear- head in pocket. We put it  back before leaving.
These tools were smooth on all sides from human touch over the ages-
it was a very profound experience for us- I think about it often.
These people were just like us- I wonder if I would do as nearly well without all my stuff.

  Prehistoric caves and  bauxite mine.

This is a representative painting of  a 15,000 year old painting on an overhanging rock -
the secuered actual work is open to see but is too delicate for a flash.

THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE- editorial comment is welcome.
